For those of you who haven't yet heard, Sen. McCain has lost his mind. It would seem the presidential hopeful spent a relaxing, leisurely weekend in the beautiful countryside of scenic Iraq. He brought some of his pals and they sauntered through the local market, assessing the new found sense of freedom increased security has granted. Hell, good ol' Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) lent a helping hand to the revamped economy by purchasing "five rugs for five bucks." Thanks Champ! After their shopping spree ended, Sen. McCain addressed the media, ensuring that the new security measures were working and that he was the proof! Here he was, without a hair out of place, after returning from an hour-long visit through a previously war torn market in Baghdad.
So you say to yourself, "Self, this is good...Sen. McCain is off assessing the current situation, and what he's telling us is that the media is not properly conveying the story about Iraq. Apparently it's MUCH safer and people are free to walk the streets! I mean, the guys spent five years in a tiger camp right? He's gotta know something..."
Then you hear fellow Republican Mike Pence (Ind.) describe the walk through the Shorja market "like a normal outdoor market in Indiana in the summertime."
And you start to get nervous. An outdoor market in Indiana...Good thing he cleared it up with the whole summertime reference...
Ok...So we can deal with this..."Self, maybe they aren't telling us the complete truth, but I mean, they are good, god fearing Americans, why would they lie? If they say the death toll is dropping, and the streets and markets are safer, we should believe them!"
Then you see this picture of our beloved McCain sauntering about in...a fucking Flak Jacket?
It's got to be from another visit...I mean, didn't he just tell us it was safer? And why are there all those armed guards...and is that a Humvee and a fence separating the general public from our presidential would-be? Say it ain't so!Lets clear this up shall we? Just in case you missed part one of the exam...
Which leads me to my point...Politicians are assholes.
